Â
OXFORD, Ohio – The Marshall University volleyball team (3-3) staved off a Middle Tennessee Blue Raider (3-2) comeback (29-27, 25-14, 24-26, 22-25, 16-14) to finish the Miami Invitational with a 2-1 record on Saturday after the five-set win.
Â
"I am so proud of this team for coming off a five-set loss late last night and rallying through another early match today," Herd volleyball head coach Ari Aganus said after Saturday's win. "The grit and relentlessness we showed is something we see every day in practice. Seeing it play out in a match, makes the future of this team so much more exciting. Brynn Brown had a great weekend and continues to only get better in all aspects of her game. Macy (McElhaney) stayed steady for us both on first ball contact and attacking. Regan Tinkle got in her groove and we were able to get a lot of point production from her, offensively and defensively. All around we played with about four-five different lineups and nobody skipped a beat. To say I'm proud of my amazing staff, team and athletic trainer is an understatement. It takes each of us locking in, every single day."

Junior Regan Tinkle recorded a career-high 19 kills and a team-best .351 attacking percentage in the win. Sophomore Brynn Brown collected a double-double with 35 assists and 17 digs.
