Herd S&D Drops Narrow Decision to JMU

Marshall takes seven events
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University swimming and diving team won seven events in a narrow 164-136 defeat to the James Madison Dukes on Saturday in the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium on Saturday.
"Having two sessions back-to-back was a great opportunity to rehearse what we're going to be moving through in February," Herd swimming and diving head coach Ian Walsh said. "We stood up against two strong teams and walked away identifying a lot of strengths and weaknesses. We'll build and improve upon these over the next four weeks."
"It was great to see the consistency for many of our women. The goal was to make adjustments and show improvement for those competing in the same disciplines both days."
"It was great to see Grace Kelsheimer qualify for zones today. That was definitely The highlight of the weekend. The staff and team were so excited for her. Eszter (Laban), Paige (Banton), and Mia (McBride) put together two really strong days of performances. Top to bottom we walked away learning quite a bit."
"As a team, we are moving in a positive direction and we look forward to honoring our seniors next weekend against Duquesne."
