Marshall Women’s Soccer Concludes Season at Louisiana

Herd’s season ends with most wins since 2015

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Marshall women's soccer team (7-9-1) ended its 2023 season with a 1-0 loss at Louisiana (7-8-2). The result secures the Ragin' Cajuns appearance into next week's Sun Belt Conference Championships.
The Herd's equalizing attempt from junior midfielder Cassidy Bell in the final moments was met with a diving save from the UL keeper. Bell's shot was one of 10 Marshall had on frame, the most shots the team has had in a shutout defeat this year.
The lone goal for the hosts came in the 75th minute to springboard the team into next week's tournament.
The 2023 season has come to an end for the Marshall University women's soccer team. The Herd finished with three more wins than 2022, and with their most wins since the 2015 season.
The Herd scored 19 goals in the 2023 campaign, with sophomore Bailey Fisher leading the charge with seven.
