LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Marshall University Men's Basketball team (2-4) fell on the road to the No. 16/16 Kentucky Wildcats (5-1), 118-82, at Rupp Arena on Friday night.
"When we executed it was right. We are a growing team," Herd men's basketball coach Dan D'Antoni said about his squad after the team's loss at UK.
Nate Martin registered his third straight double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, making 6-of-9 from the field. With a 50 percent shooting night (10-for-20), Obinna Anochili-Killen tallied 22 points, one shy of tying his career-high 23, while grabbing six rebounds and rejecting a pair of shots.
Jacob Conner scored 14 points while Kevon Voyles contributed 10.
The Herd outrebounded the Wildcats 38-37, including 17 to 10 on the offensive glass. MU turned those 17 boards into 14 second-chance points.
Marshall made 42 percent of its shots from the field (29-for-69).
UP NEXT
Marshall is set for its first home contest in nearly a month when it hosts the Miami (OH) RedHawks on December 2 at 7 p.m.
