Day 3 At Frisco Bowl Brings Herd Victory in Fowling

Marshall’s team earns sweep in best-of-3 Fowl-Off With UTSA
FRISCO, Texas – Marshall wide receiver Talik Keaton is known for hauling in passes during his Thundering Herd career, but on Sunday, he showed that he has an accurate arm as well.
Keaton joined quarterback Colin Parachek, tight end Cade Conley and defensive back Jacobie Henderson to defeat UTSA's team in a game of Fowling at the Fowling Warehouse DFW on Sunday afternoon.
Fowling combines the concepts of football, bowling and horseshoes in an interesting game that is sweeping across Texas. Marshall players learned the rules then got to partner up for a practice session before Marshall's best faced off against UTSA's best.
The first team to knock down all 10 bowling pins set up by throwing footballs is the winner.
In the best-of-3 set, Parachek led Marshall to an early 1-0 lead as he came up clutch in sudden death, knocking down the final pin with each team having just one remaining.
The same scenario faced the teams in game two, and Keaton connected. The celebration ensued after UTSA missed its shot at redemption, giving Marshall the trophy.
From there, the focus shifted back to football for a gorgeous afternoon practice where temperatures reached near 70 degrees at the Toyota Stadium practice fields.
For Marshall's seniors, it was the final full-scale practice of their careers.
What's Next
Monday morning features the 2023 Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl press conference with head coach Charles Huff and players Owen Porter and Logan Osburn addressing the media at 9:30 a.m.
Marshall players will take part in an NFL College Outreach Workshop that brings former NFL players and staff in to speak with Marshall's student-athletes about key items that will impact their financial futures. Topics include the NFL Combine, financial levels of draft picks, free agent opportunities, importance of college education and the importance of a player's reputation as they look to build their own brand.
The players then will tour The Star – the Dallas Cowboys practice facility – to give them a taste of one of the nation's premier professional practice facilities.
After that tour, Marshall's team will take part in its final walk-through at the Toyota Stadium practice fields prior to Tuesday night's game against UTSA.
