HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's basketball team (15-10, 8-6 SBC) returns to action Thursday at Georgia Southern.
Having won six of its last seven, Thundering Herd graduate senior Shanniah Wright understands the importance of facing a Georgia Southern team, also with eight wins in the Sun Belt Conference.
"They're a good basketball team," Wright said. "That was true when we played them last time and it is true now. They are going to give us everything they've got and we will give everything we've got!"

ABOUT THE EAGLES
Marshall and Georgia Southern met on Jan. 7, playing to a thrilling 83-80 finish in favor of the Eagles. The Herd at one point trailed by 21 before making its longest scoring run of the year, a 22-0 burst.
Georgia Southern specializes in crashing the boards and playing fast. The Eagles are first in the Sun Belt in assists per game (15.9), field goal percentage (43.5%), defensive rebounds per game (30.9), and three-point percentage (21.2%).
Georgia Southern features leading scorer Terren Ward, who averages 18.2 PPG, second in the conference. Ward is also the second-best three-point shooter in the league (37.9).
