HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Coach Tony Kemper's Thundering Herd (15-12, 8-8 Sun Belt) celebrates senior night Wednesday from the Cam Henderson Center. 

Three seniors will be celebrated prior to the game, including graduate transfers Kendall Miller and Shanniah Wright, as well as five-year Marshall veteran Kia Sivils. The Louisville, Ky. native is ready to compete down the stretch.

"I'm going to do my role and give it all I have no matter what," Sivils said. "I just want to leave it all out there and have the younger players follow my lead for next year and leave my legacy at Marshall."

Senior Night/Autograph Session/Shoe Donations

  • Three Marshall seniors will be honored with a ceremony prior to tip.
  • The Marshall women's basketball team is partnering with alumna Taylor Pearson for shoe donations to the Huntington City Mission. All shoe sizes are welcome and collection baskets will be available at the gate.
  • There will also be an autograph session with Marshall players and coaches after the game. 

PREGAME NOTES

  • Marshall has earned a single-bye into next week's SBC Tournament. The probable starting date for the team will be next Wednesday, March 1.

  • Freshman Sydni Scott made her first career-start last Saturday.The Prospect Park, Pa. native has scored 142 points for the Herd this season. .
  • Mahogany Matthews reached her 100th career block on Saturday. The redshirt-junior has 55 this season, which is third all-time in a single-season in program history.

ABOUT THE MONARCHS

  • ODU enters the final week of the regular season with double-bye goals in mind. 
  • ODU is in a three-way tie for second at 11-5. The Monarchs are led by Amari Young, who is third in the conference with 226 rebounds, leading the team with 8.4 per game. Young is also the team's leading scorer with 11.5 points per game.
  • Kaye Clark is the Sun Belt's leader with 74 takeaways this season. Her 2.55 steals per game average is on top of the conference as well. 
  • Marshall and Old Dominion met on Jan. 14, with the Monarchs winning by seven.
