Luiza Travassos Called Up to Brazil U20 National Team

Travassos invited to national team camp in São Paulo
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University women's soccer midfielder Luiza Travassos has been called up to the Brazil U20 National Team Camp.
The ten-day training period will be from February.13-22 from the Sorocaba Conventions Center in São Paulo.
"I'm delighted for Luiza and her family," Head Coach Michael Swan said. "One of the goals for Luiza when she joined us here at Marshall was to get back into the national team setup with Brazil. We are proud to say that we as a program and I speak for her teammates on this as well is that we have been part of her journey. We have no doubt that she will continue to grow as a player through the national team avenues and here at Marshall."
The midfielder from Rio de Janeiro scored four goals in 18 matches for the Herd as a freshman in 2022. Travassos logged over 1,400 minutes for Coach Swan in her first season.
Travassos is the second Herd women's soccer player to be called up to represent their country in the last year. Kat Gonzalez represented the Dominican Republic for a pair of 2023 World Cup qualifying matches last April.
