Red-Hot Herd Looks to Continue Streak Thursday Morning

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Winners of five in a row, the Marshall women's basketball team (14-9, 7-5 Sun Belt) stays home to face Coastal Carolina Thursday morning.
Junior guard Abby Beeman is averaging 13.6 points, 7.2 assists and 6.6 rebounds per game during the Herd's winning streak. Beeman acknowledges the importance of taking each game one at a time.
"Thursday is a big one because it's our next one," Beeman said. "If we get these two wins under our belt, we could move up in the conference and that will be the same [mentality] going forward."

ABOUT THE CHANTICLEERS
Marshall and Coastal Carolina alike have found success since the two sides met last month. Coastal is 6-6 in Sun Belt games, winning five of the eight they have played since the Herd visited Conway.
CCU's leading scorer Aja Blount averages 16.3 PPG and is an 89.7% FT shooter, (1st in the Sun Belt Conference). Blount scored a game-high 18 points when the teams met in January.
Following the Chanticleers' 65-61 win over Marshall on Jan. 12, Coach Kemper's side has won five of its last seven.
