HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall Thundering Herd (28-3, 4-0 SBC) continues its seven-game homestand with a three-game set with the Georgia State Panthers (13-19, 2-4 SBC). The series opener is set for 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

- Marshall is on an 18-game winning streak, its longest streak in program history. The Herd has set numerous records in 2023, with its 28 wins in 31 games being the best mark in the team's 30-year history.
- Junior Autumn Owen is the current home run leader in the NCAA, hitting 15 home runs in 2023. Owen also has the most RBI in the country, with 54 runs driven in.Â
- Redshirt-senior Sydney Nester has continued her dominance in the circle into conference play, having thrown 20 consecutive scoreless innings to open Sun Belt play. Nester is second in the country with 16 wins and seven shutouts.

- The GSU Panthers are led by veteran manager Angie Nicholson, who is 456-404-1 in her 19th year of coaching.
- The Panthers like to run, ranking third in the Sun Belt in stolen bases (64), and stolen bases per game (2.00).
- Georgia State features two players with six home runs in 2023. Chloe Nadler and Bailee Richardson are tied for seventh in the league in home run total.
