HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The 38-7 Marshall Thundering Herd softball team returns to action Tuesday against the Virginia Tech Hokies from the ACC.

- Marshall softball has reached the 40-win mark just three times in program history, reaching a program-record 42 wins in 2017 and 2019, with 41 wins coming in the 2003 season.
- The Herd leads the Sun Belt in batting average (.348) and ERA (1.55). Â
- Junior Autumn Owen set the program record over the weekend with her 61st RBI of the year, breaking Rachel Folden's previous record of 60 in a season. Owen leads the Sun Belt with a .465 average.
- Fifth-year senior Grace Chelemen won the team's Warrior Award in honor of Marshall graduate Emileigh Cooper on Saturday.

ABOUT THE HOKIES
- Virginia Tech is 33-15 overall, and 12-9 in the ACC in 2023. As of Monday, April 24, the Hokies are ranked 22nd in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top-25 poll.
- Tuesday will be a homecoming for senior Jayme Bailey. The Hurricane High School graduate is batting .347 with 12 home runs in 2023.
- Emma Lemley has led the VT pitching staff with a 3.36 ERA with 22 complete games and four shutouts. Lemley is second in the country with 237 strikeouts (Alabama's Montana Fouts has 262).
