Marshall Dominates ULM After Game Resumes Friday

Herd wins 22nd game in a row and eighth straight in SBC play.
MONROE, La. — The Marshall softball team (32-3, 8-0 SBC) weathered the storm to defeat the ULM Warhawks, 13-2 in six innings.Â
The Herd dominated the game Friday after it was halted after an inning Thursday. MU outscored the Warhawks 10-0 in the resumption, with Sydney Nester pitching a scoreless final five innings.Â
Grace Chelemen and Bub Feringa hit a pair of base hits up the middle to add three runs to what started as a 3-2 lead. Rielly Lucas had a bases-clearing double in the 1st inning Thursday before rain postponed the game 24 hours.
Nester struck out eight, seven of which came on Friday, allowing just two hits in her 19th win of the season.Â
Five more runs greeted the Warhawks in the 6th, Camryn Michallas and Lauren Love drove in a pair of runs. Love made a diving catch in the 4th as well.Â
UP NEXT
Marshall and ULM will faceoff for a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT on Saturday.Â
