D1 Softball Names Autumn Owen All-American

Junior catcher becomes Sun Belt Conference's lone D1Softball.com Second Team All-American

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall softball junior Autumn Owen has been named a 2023 All-American by D1Softball.com, the Sun Belt Conference's lone Second Team All-American representative. The Mill Spring, North Carolina, native was named a Second-Team All-American selection by the D1Softball staff. The full list of D1Softball All-Americans can be found HERE.

Owen finished as the SBC leader in home runs (19), runs batted in (71), and batting average (.444), earning her the league's batting triple crown distinction. Her 71 runs batted in broke the program's previous single-season record of 60. Owen had 22 multi-hit games in 2023, including seven games with three hits. She also had 22 multi-RBI games with 12 contests of at least three runs batted in and three games with four RBI. The junior slugged five home runs in a weekend at the Liberty Classic from Feb. 24-26, the most in a single weekend in program history.
