Owen is the fifth All-American in program history

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Marshall softball junior Autumn Owen has been named a 2023 Division I National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Third Team All-American, as announced by the organization during its press conference at the Women's College World Series.

On Tuesday, Owen was named an All-American by D1Softball.com, making the junior from Mill Spring, North Carolina a consensus pick for All-American honors.

The junior catcher and 2023 Sun Belt Conference triple crown winner is the fifth All-American in Marshall softball history, joining Mya Stevenson from 2022, Jordan Dixon and Morgan Zerkle in 2017, and Rachel Folden - whose single-season RBI record of 60 was broken by Owen in 2023 - every season from 2005-08.

"Autumn is a special person, leader, teammate, and player who represents Marshall with toughness, humility, and grit," Marshall softball head coach Megan Smith Lyon said. "She leads by example on and off the field every single day and puts her team first 100 percent of the time. This honor is well-deserved and places her among the best ever to put on a Herd jersey. I am so proud of her and all she has accomplished and I am excited to see what she does next season,"
