HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The fifth-ranked Marshall University men's soccer team (2-0) is set to play host to the Xavier Musketeers (1-0-1) on Friday to close out a three-match homestand. First kick is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at Hoops Family Field.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Matthew Bell had a big week of awards being named the Sun Belt Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and to the College Soccer News Men's National Team of the Week. The sophomore from Kingston, Jamaica, leads the nation with eight points and four goals.
- In a 5-0 win over Wright State on Monday, Marco Silva tallied a career game with his first career goal, assist and hat trick. His seven points from the season are tied for second in the country behind Bell.
- After registering two assists against Wright State, Alvaro Garcia-Pascual is tied for the national lead with three assists.
- As a team, the Herd leads the country in goal differential (9), total points (27) and is tied for the national lead with nine goals scored.
ABOUT THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier has faced the two opponents as Marshall to begin its season drawing 1-1 against Wright State and defeating Oakland 2-1.
- The Musketeers rank fourth nationally with 9.5 shots on goal per game.
- Xavier has had three different goal scorers this season in Fabrizio Bernal de la Garza, Seydou Diop and Sohei Matsumori.
