HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 1 Marshall University men's soccer team (8-0, 2-0 Sun Belt) hits the road for its final non-conference match of the season at VCU (1-3-4, 1-0-1 A10) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Richmond, Virginia.

PRE-MATCH NOTES

The Herd secured a 1-0 win over No. 3 UCF on Saturday to remain unbeaten in SBC play on Adam Aoumaich's fourth goal of the season.
MU is the last team in the country with a perfect winning percentage having no ties or losses in its first eight matches of the season.
In the Herd's last 14 contests, it has given up just six goals, going 11-2-1 during that stretch, including winning its last seven matches.
Matthew Bell is having quite the sophomore campaign. The Kingston, Jamaica, is fourth in the country with 17 points on six goals, tied for third in the conference, and five assists, sitting atop the SBC.
Marco Silva has put together quite the redshirt freshman campaign. He sits a point behind Bell at 16, ranking fifth in the nation, and is tied for second in Division I men's soccer with seven goals.
Gabriel Perrotta has recorded the victory in goal in all eight of MU's contests this season with 4.5 shutouts and the best save percentage (.857) and second-best goals against average in the conference (.378).
The Herd leads the country in several statistics, including goals (26) and points (78) while ranking second in goal differential (23) scoring offense (3.57 goals per game), and assists (25).

ABOUT THE RAMS

VCU is coming off its first win of the season on Saturday at UMASS, 1-0. The Rams were picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll.
William Hitchcock leads VCU with a pair of goals including the game-winner at UMASS.
Camilo Comi has a pair of assists this season to lead the Rams.
