Marshall hosts ODU Thursday with first place in play

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's basketball team enters the 4th week of Sun Belt Conference play 5-0, in sole possession of first place.
The Herd will host Old Dominion Thursday, one of the three teams tied for second place. Coach Kim Caldwell's team will then face Coastal Carolina for the annual Sweetheart Clinic game Saturday afternoon.

PRE-GAME NOTES
- Marshall enters the week atop the Sun Belt Conference as the lone unbeaten team. The Herd is 5-0 with three teams in a tie for second at 4-1. The full SBC standings can be found HERE.
- The Herd is first in the conference in three-pointers per game (11.0). Individually, Abby Beeman leads the SBC in assists per game (7.0). Aislynn Hayes is making the most three pointers per game (4.50).

ABOUT OLD DOMINION
- Old Dominion is 12-3 overall, and 4-1 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Monarchs were picked 4th in the SBC Preseason Poll.
- Fourth-year Head Coach DeLisha Milton-Jones's team is led by a balanced attack. En'Dya Buford and Jordan McLaughlin are each averaging over 10 points per game.
- The Monarchs allow just 54.1 points per game, a number which leads the SBC.
ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
- The Herd and Chanticleers will meet for the second consecutive Saturday. Marshall won in Conway 72-60 last week.
- The Chanticleers are 7-11 overall, while entering the fourth week of league play with a 1-4 record.
- Coach Kevin Pederson is in his second season in Conway, with Preseason All-SBC Third Team member Deaja Richardson leading the team with 14.9 PPG.
