West Named SBC Swimmer of the Week

Senior won four of her six races in Buffalo
Championship Fund
NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University swimmer Audrey West was named the Sun Belt Conference Swimmer of the Week on Thursday, as announced by the league office. It is the senior's first weekly award of the season and the team's fifth.
West put together a terrific performance last week in a tri-meet last weekend against Buffalo and Duquesne in Buffalo. On Friday, the Walton, Kentucky, native began the meet with by anchoring the final leg of the 200 Medley Relay top a first place finish (1:45.00). West followed that up with a first-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke (1:04.32) and second in the 100 Individual Medley (59.26) just .14 behind teammate Paige Banton.
In the final day of the meet on Saturday, West captured first in the 200 Individual Medley (2:07.53) with a second-place finish in the 200 Breaststroke (2:22.03). The senior also helped her team win the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:44.28) as she swam he second leg of the relay.
The Herd will be back in action on January 27 when it hosts Toledo for Senior Day at 10 a.m. on ESPN+.
