Marshall moves forward to SBC Championships
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Marshall cross country is entering championship season with its most "complete" performance on both sides as described by head coach Caleb Bowen.
The Herd women started the afternoon with a second place finish behind only the hosts and ahead of the Big Ten's Michigan State. Senior Kylee Mastin paced the team with a top-five finish, getting fourth with a time of 21:06.
Marshall's men finished third. Freshman Justin Lipcomb led the squad with an 8K time of 25:39. MU's 1-4 split was within 50 seconds.
"I thought we competed really well on both sides," Bowen said. "That was probably the most complete race we've had, both teams. For the women, we solidified that 4-5-6-7 which was really fun to watch. For the men, the top four ran great, and the 5-6-7 are looking to step up. Overall, a really good meet to go into our conference meet."
