Marshall Cross Country Prepares For Sun Belt Conference Championships Friday Morning

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The first conference champions of the 2024-25 Sun Belt season will be crowned Friday morning from Foley, Ala. for the Cross Country Championships.
The Men's 8K opens the morning at 9:30 a.m. eastern, 8:30 a.m. local. The Women's 5K will follow at 10:15 a.m. eastern, 9:15 a.m. Foley time.

"We are really excited for this meet tomorrow," Head Cross Country Coach Caleb Bowen said. "Going into Championship Season there is one goal and it is to run as fast as you can and to the best of your potential at the meet that matters and that is tomorrow. We are very excited for both squads, we want to finish better than last year. For the women, who finished third last year, we want to of course elevate one or two spots. For the men, the group can be in that top-four position. That is our goal, we need to focus on being as close of a pack as possible, getting out well and moving up the field."
The men's race will feature nine schools, App State enters as the defending team champions. The women's sees 13 schools competing for the title, which has been claimed by Arkansas State four of the last five seasons.
