MONROE, La. – The Marshall University Volleyball team (11-10, 2-6 SBC) gutted a five-set victory to seal the weekend sweep in Monroe, Louisiana, over the ULM Warhawks (4-16, 0-8 SBC) on Saturday.

The Herd took the contest, 25-19, 28-30, 24-26, 25-16, 15-13.

"Super proud of the resilience we showed today," Herd Volleyball Head Coach Ari Aganus said after the wine. "2-0 on the road in this conference is definitely something to be proud of. We had some really great defensive moments on the floor and the block and were able to lean on our middles offensively. Overall, we need to continue to keep working on our consistency and get prepped for Georgia State."

Brynn Brown collected her fourth triple-double of the season with 50 assists, 15 digs and 12 kills in the win. Beatrice Ciccarelli finished with 17 kills and a .400 hitting percentage as Peyton Neal had a match-high 21 digs.

The Herd took the first set wire-to-wire. With the set tied 5-5, MU went on an 8-1 run, concluded by a kill from Olivia Fogo and a Warhawks error; to jump out to a 13-6 lead, Marshall cruised the rest of the way with a .262 hitting percentage in route to the 25-19 win.

However, The Herd found itself down 2-1 after ULM took the second set 30-28 and third 26-24.

Much like the first, the scoreboard was knotted 5-5 early in the fourth set. Just like clockwork, MU found a way to dismantle ULM. Marshall captured 20 of the final 31 points to force a fifth set with its 25-16 triumph in the fourth frame with a .359 hitting percentage.

The fifth set was tied 11-11 as the sides battled it out in the deciding set. The Herd used a quick 3-0 run with kills from Fogo and Audrey Geer paired with a ULM attacking error to reach match point at 14-11. ULM garnered a pair of points, but Geer clinched the set and match at 15-13 with the final kill of the contest. MU closed out the fifth with a .400 attacking percentage.
