HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football celebrates Senior Day and its first game in 16 days when the Thundering Herd takes on ULM at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in a game that will be seen on ESPN+.

PRE-GAME NOTES
Prior to Saturday's game, Marshall will honor its 2024 seniors who are starting their last stretch of games with the Herd. There are 22 players who will be taking part in the pre-game festivities.
Marshall and ULM each come into the game well-positioned to make a run at their respective division titles. Marshall comes into the game at 4-3 overall and 2-1 in SBC action while ULM is currently 5-2 and 3-1 in SBC play.

ABOUT MARSHALL
Marshall comes into the contest at 4-3 overall and 2-1 on the season. Head coach Charles Huff is in his fourth season leading the Thundering Herd.
Offensively, the Thundering Herd is 15th in the nation in rushing yards per game, averaging 215.0 yards per game.
That number is led by Marshall redshirt sophomore A.J. Turner, who leads the Sun Belt at 102.4 yards per game. Turner is the only player in FBS with more than 50 carries to average 10 yards per carry (10.1).
On the defensive side, the Herd is led by defensive end Mike Green, who is 4th in FBS in sacks per game (1.14) and is tied for 3rd in FBS in tackles for loss per game (1.57). Green is also third among defensive linemen in FBS with 46 tackles.
Marshall defensive back J.J. Roberts has also stood out for the Herd with 53 tackles and an SBC-leading nine pass breakups. The nine pass breakups are also tied for 8th nationally.
On special teams, kicker Rece Verhoff has also been solid over recent weeks, connecting on his last eight field goals, including five in the last two games – four of which were from 40-plus yards.

ABOUT ULM
ULM is led by first-year coach Bryant Vincent, who has already made a huge impact, leading the team to a 5-2 start in his first season at the helm.
The five wins are the most for the team since 2019 and it also represents only the third time in the last 11 seasons that the Warhawks have reached five wins. ULM is looking to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2018.
The Warhawks feature a run-oriented offense that has produced 168.0 yards per game on the ground. That figure is led by Ahmad Hardy, who leads all freshmen running backs in FBS at 86.3 rushing yards per game.
Defensively, ULM has been stingy, allowing the opposition just 367.3 yards per game while also being on the right side of the turnover margin category at +0.43 takeaways per game.
The Warhawks are led defensively by Wydett Williams, Jr., who leads the team with 59 tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

SERIES HISTORY
Marshall and ULM have met only one previous time in history – that coming when ULM was not known as ULM. In 1987, the two programs met in the NCAA I-AA National Championship game with Northeast Louisiana earning an exciting 43-42 win over the Herd.
