"I have been really blessed and lucky, there is no better job than this," Coach Fulks said. "To be able to watch the team go out and the work they have done to get this win, to me that is the satisfying part. That is the best life lesson, you have to go out there and take it. I am really proud that they competed and really grateful to get another win."
Leading the Herd was Aislynn Hayes with a new-Marshall best 27 points. It is her most in a game since she scored 29 as a member of Middle Tennessee on Jan. 9, 2021.
Hayes turned it on in the second half, scoring 19 after halftime. Additionally, she was an efficient 12-of-14 from the free throw line. She has been a 71 percent free throw shooter through three games in the early part of the season.
"This summer, that has been my focus," Hayes said. "That has been my main focus to work on my free throws because I left a lot of points off the court when I did not make my free throws last year. That is something I have been working on so when I feel like you put the work in, it shows on the court."

Hayes - combined with Sunday's-leading scoring Meredith Maier made important shots down the stretch in the final period with Marshall maintaining its lead. Maier connected on a clutch three-pointer with just under a minute to play to give MU the nine-point lead with a minute to play.
The game-sealing three was one of four Maier made in the contest. She has now made 12 triples this season, leading the league with 4.0 per game as of Wednesday night.
The Herd closes its three-game early season homestand at the Cam Henderson Center Sunday evening against George Mason. Tip from Huntington is at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
