Marshall S&D Heads to Orlando for SBC Championships

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Swimming & Diving team is set for the Sun Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Orlando, Florida, beginning on Wednesday.

The four-day meet is being held at the Rosen Aquatic Center with the competing teams featuring Georgia Southern, James Madison and Old Dominion along with The Herd.

MARSHALL NOTES

Marshall was last in the pool on January 27 in a 169-131 win over Bowling Green in Huntington.
The Herd set nine top-10 program marks at the meet led by Paige Banton setting the program record in the 200 Breaststroke (2:12.75) by two-tenths of a second.
Along with Paige's performance, Madeline Hart had two top-10 performances with third best time in the 200 Butterfly (2:01.19) and the fifth best time in the 100 Butterfly (54.77) in program history.
Molly Warner had a trio of top-10 program best performances. The freshman clocked the ninth fastest time in program history in the 200 Freestyle (1:50.78) and the 200 Backstroke (2:01.94) along with the seventh fastest time in the 200 Individual Medley (2:03.80).
Also in the 200 Backstroke, Mia McBride set the eighth best time in program history at 2:00.52. The final individual top-10 record was set by Jessica Humby in 200 Breaststroke with the 10th best time (1:04.57).
Marshall won six of the 11 SBC Swimmer of the Week awards, Banton, Hart, Warner and Audrey West earning the honor once with Eszter Laban winning twice.
Grace Kelsheimer was named the conference's diver of the week for the final week of the season.
