Marshall Tennis Travels to Illinois for the Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Tennis team (8-2) travels to Illinois for a trio of road matches riding a five-match winning streak. The Herd is set to take on Northwestern (4-3) on Friday, is at Illinois State (5-1) Saturday and concludes the weekend at Illinois (5-2) on Sunday.

PREMATCH NOTES

Marshall is on a five-match winning streak after defeating Louisville and Furman last weekend.
Emma Vanderheyden is 8-2 in singles this season with Johanna Strom sitting at 7-2.
At number three singles, Doroteja Joksovic is on a five-match winning streak.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN

The Wildcats have lost its last two matches 4-3 to No. 23 Georgia Tech and No. 22 Vanderbilt.
Briana Crowley sports a 5-2 record at number five singles this season.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS STATE

The Cardinals enter the weekend with a 5-1 record and on a two-match winning streak after picking up victories over Chicago State and Washington (D III) last weekend.
The team's lone loss came at Nebraska on February 4.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS

The Fighting Illini is 5-2 on the year and on a two-match winning streak, including a victory over then ranked No. 23 UCF on January 23 at the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Megan Heuser has put together a 5-1 record at number one singles during the spring.
Illinois will face Brown on Saturday before Sunday's matchup against The Herd.
