CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Marshall University Tennis (9-4) fell to the Illinois Fighting Illini (7-2), 4-0, Sunday in Champaign, Illinois.

"We battled through a lot this weekend," Herd Tennis head coach John Mercer said. "This should make us better going into conference season. Illinois is a well-coached team. Best of luck to them the rest of the way."

In singles, Johanna Strom was up a game in the second point after falling in the first as their match went unfinished on court one.

Emma Vanderheyden picked up a set one win on court two before the match went unfinished as Rieke Gillar had her match on court five tied at four all as it went unfinished.
