Marshall holds two-game lead in SBC standings with two weeks remaining

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Following a 2-0 road trip last week, Coach Kim Caldwell's Marshall Thundering Herd (19-6, 13-1 SBC) begins a two-game western swing at Texas State (13-14, 3-11 SBC).
Tip from Strahan Arena is at 8 p.m. eastern Wednesday, 7 p.m. local time.

PRE-GAME NOTES
- Marshall is seeking its sixth 20-win season in program history. The last time the Herd reached 20 wins before the postseason was the 1990-91 season.
- The Herd is third in the nation in steals per game (13.2). Marshall also leads the league in three-point percentage (33.8%), assists per game (15.9), and field goal percentage (42.8%).
- With two weeks remaining in the regular season, Marshall holds a two-game lead in the Sun Belt Conference standings.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
- Texas State is 13-14 overall, while struggling with a 3-11 Sun Belt Conference record.
- The key to Wednesday's game will be behind the three-point arc. The Bobcats are holding opponents to shooting 25.5 percent from deep, which is best in the conference. Marshall ranks tops of the SBC at shooting threes, making 33.8 percent of 3-pointers.
- The Herd and Bobcats met for the first time in program history last season. TXST won that contest, 64-60 in Huntington.
