Marshall Tennis Season Closes in SBC Quarterfinals

Joksovic wins doubles and singles contests

ROME, Ga. – The second-seeded Marshall University Tennis team (18-8) had its season come to a close in the 2024 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship Quarterfinals in a narrow 4-3 defeat to the App State Mountaineers on Friday in Rome, Georgia.
The duo of Gabrielle Clairotte and Doroteja Joksovic took their doubles contest on court three 6-2, but the Mountaineers took the doubles point after taking a tiebreak on court one to close out doubles.
In singles, Andjela Lopicic took her match on court six in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) as Joksovic quickly followed on court three with a 6-4, 6-4, win.
Rieke Gillar then gutted out a three-set triumph on court five after falling in the first set (3-6, 6-1, 6-3).
App State took the final three singles contests to close out the match.
