Marshall Men’s Basketball Announces Summer Camp Schedule

Herd to host several camps over summer months

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's basketball will host two youth camps, a middle school shootout, a team camp and an elite camp over the summer months at the Cam Henderson Center, Herd Men's Basketball head coach Cornelius Jackson announced on Monday. Campers will have the opportunity to work alongside current and former Thundering Herd players and staff members at each camp.

Herd Camp will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 10th, to Wednesday, June 12th, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, June 13th. An awards ceremony will conclude camp on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. The camp is open to ages 7-17, and costs $185. Lunch will be served Monday through Wednesday in an all-you-can-eat facility located on the Marshall University campus. Sibling discounts will be available. The cost of two campers is $350, while the cost for three is $500. Herd Camp will feature "theme days." Campers with the best outfits each day will win prizes. The theme schedule is:

Little Herd Camp

Little Herd Camp is for boys and girls ages 5 - 12, and costs $135. The camp will run 9 a.m. to noon, from Monday, July 1, to Wednesday, July 3. Campers will play games while learning the basic fundamentals of basketball, including ball handling, defense and shooting form. There is also a sibling discount for Little Herd Camp. The cost for two campers is $250, while the cost for three is $345. An awards ceremony will conclude camp on Wednesday at 11:30am.
Each camper will receive a customized Marshall Basketball dri-fit shirt, with plenty of prizes and giveaways available. There will also be personalized T-shirts for various games and competitions. The camps will also feature a concession stand, with food, drink, and snack options. Little Herd Camp will feature "theme days." Campers with the best outfits each day will win prizes. The theme schedule is:

Wednesday, July 3: Camp Shirt Day
Team Camps
The middle school shootout is slated for June 20. Each team gets three games for $250. High school team camp is June 21 & 22. Overnight options are available for team camps. Team camps also include a camp dri-fit shirt, certified officials, and the opportunity to play on the Henderson Center court. Each day consists of three games per team, with divisions in varsity, junior varsity, and freshman. The cost is $250 for three games (one day), or $450 for six games (two days). Combination packages are also available for bringing varsity and junior varsity teams.
ELITE CAMP
Elite Camp will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a prospect camp for high schoolers, rising ninth graders through 12th grade. Contact the basketball office for more details.
All camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, or grade level, and/or gender.
