HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Cross Country team revealed its 2024 schedule Friday with six total meets scheduled for Head Coach Caleb Bowen's Herd.
The season opens with the second-annual Thundering Herd XC Invitational at the Kennedy Center YMCA Complex in Barboursville on Friday, Aug. 30. More details are to come for the entire planned home-opening weekend.
"I'm really excited about this schedule," Coach Bowen said. "Starting off the year with a home meet is always a great way to start the season. We bring a lot of excitement to our home meets and I think this year will be a great one."
Marshall competes at App State, Louisville, and Bowling Green in the season's other three regular season meets before the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships again convene in Foley, Alabama on Nov. 1.
"Heading to Boone for our second meet will be a good opportunity to see where our team is compared to a few of our conference mates," said Coach Bowen.
"Racing at Louisville for the Live in Lou Classic is one of the best meets of the year. With over 300 runners in each of the races, we will face some of the best competition in the country."
"Ending the regular season at Bowling Green will be a perfect culmination of the season because the Falcon Classic has a similar feel as the conference championship and the teams we'd face are similar to what we'd face down in Foley."

Nov. 1 -Sun Belt Cross Country Championships (Foley, Alabama)
Nov. 15 -NCAA DI Mid Atlantic Regional (State College, Pennsylvania)
Nov. 23 - NCAA DI Cross Country Championships (Madison, Wisconsin)
