HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball (5-11, 0-5 SBC) returns to the Cam Henderson Center for the first time in 2025 to begin a four-game homestand against the Sun Belt Conference leaders, JMU (13-4, 5-0 SBC).

Wednesday's game is a "White Out." Fans are encouraged to wear white and are to pick up a white rally towel upon entering the Henderson Center from the various marketing tables. Fans will also receive a "bang-a-banner" noise making-item.

PRE-GAME NOTES

  • Marshall is searching for an elusive league win following its narrow 80-75 defeat at Old Dominion Saturday. The team shot 45 percent from the field in the defeat, its second-best shooting performance of the season. Unfortunately for the Herd, ODU shot 48 percent from behind the arc, the highest total of any opponent the Herd has faced this season. 
  • Aislynn Hayes leads all scorers in the league with 17.0 PPG entering Wednesday's game. She has reached double figures in her last eight contests and in 13 of the 15 games she's appeared in this season.
  • Wednesday is the first of four consecutive games Marshall will play at the Cam Henderson Center. The Herd also learned Central Michigan will be its opponent in Huntington on Saturday, Feb. 8 as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge.

ABOUT JMU

  • JMU is 13-4 overall, 5-0 in conference play. Only one of JMU's five league wins have been by less than 10 points.
  • JMU's Peyton McDaniel was named the 2024-25 SBC Preseason Player of the Year. She is averaging 15.3 PPG with four double-doubles this season. She scored 29 points to lead the Dukes in a win over Georgia Southern Saturday.  
  • Former Herd guard Ro Scott is averaging 11.9 PPG with the Dukes. 
  • Wednesday will be the second of two regular season meetings between the sides within six days. JMU won in Harrisonburg over the Herd, 71-59 last Thursday.
