HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall junior guard CC Mays scored a career-high 24 points for the Herd in a 93-65 loss to the leaders of the Sun Belt Conference, JMU Wednesday from the Cam Henderson Center.
"[Coach Fulks] is just instilling confidence in me as the season goes on," Mays said. "She believes in me, knowing my team believes in me I feel more confident going out there taking the shots that I took."

The Herd (5-12, 0-6 SBC) never led against the Dukes (14-4, 6-0 SBC) in the second contest in six days between the two sides.
The league leaders looked the part, shooting 54 percent for the game on 33-of-61 shooting and 55 percent from three on 11-of-20 shooting.
"Once you build that kind of hole against a team as good as JMU it is really hard to get out of," Head Coach Juli Fulks said. "I thought we understood what we were trying to do and then [JMU] goes on to shoot 55 percent from the 3-point line."
"We really need to get healthy, we've been in so many weird lineups the last three games and in practice. We responded really well at ODU and today it was kind of the opposite. I have got to figure out how we can get some people some rest to get through this and be able to turn the corner on Saturday."
