Kelsheimer earns fifth Diver of the Week award, Banton first Swimmer of the Week honor

The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team swept the Sun Belt Conference weekly awards for the fifth time this season with Grace Kelsheimer earning her fifth SBC Diver of the Week award and Paige Banton being named SBC Swimmer of the Week for the first time this season on Thursday, as announced by the league office. The pair helped lead The Herd to its first win in program history at FIU on December 16

Banton had three individual event wins in the 100/200 Breaststroke (1:05.10 / 2:20.86) and the 200 Individual Medley (2:09.70). The Canadian swimmer was also a member of the second-place 200 Medley Relay team with the fastest 50 Breast split (29.50) in the event.

Kelsheimer excelled on the boards again for The Herd. The senior diver won the 1m with a score of 288.98 and the 3m with a mark of 276.60.

Marshall is back in the pool this weekend with meets at Toledo on Friday at 5 p.m. and at Bowling Green on Saturday at 11 a.m.
