Kochan, Hudson earn top-20 finishes in final fall event

ARDEN, N.C. – Marshall Women's Golf wrapped up the final event of their fall season at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday at Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, N.C.
Senior Olivia Kochan and junior Maddi Hudson each earned top-20 finishes in the event with Kochan finishing T-16 and Hudson notching a T-18 finish.
In a rain-soaked tournament, Hudson turned in the best round of any Marshall player during the event on Tuesday when she had a 2-over 74 to conclude the fall.
Hudson finished the round with two birdies and 13 pars in a consistent effort on the course despite adverse conditions.
Marshall finished sixth in the 10-team event that was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather that hindered the practice rounds and first day of play.
With the finish, Marshall's fall season comes to a close. The Herd's next event will be the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 9.
