HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 22 Marshall Men's Soccer team (4-1-4, 2-1-0 SBC) erased a 1-0 deficit and powered past Georgia State (3-3-4, 1-1-1 SBC) 3-1 on Saturday night at Hoops Family Field. Alvaro Alvarez tallied his first two goals with The Herd as Keaviano Francis notched a pair of assists.
"Good comeback tonight," Herd Men's Soccer Head Coach Chris Grassie said after the match. "I think the guys have been very resilient all season, and I think we played better and better as the game went on."
After conceding the opening goal to the Panthers' Matt Taylor in the 41st minute, the Herd drew level less than two minutes later when Alvarez finished low to the left side off assists from Francis and Nikita Pakhomov. The equalizer shifted momentum just before halftime.
