HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 12-ranked and third-seeded Marshall University Men's Soccer team (10-2-5) is set for a second Mountain State Derby in 2025 as it faces the No. 17-ranked and second-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers Wednesday in the Sun Belt Conference Semifinals. The contest is set for a 7 p.m. first kick in Morgantown.

- The Herd has spent the last 2,000-plus days in the top 25 of the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
- Marshall advanced to the semifinals behind a 3-1 win in the quarterfinals over Georgia State Sunday night in Morgantown.
- Takahiro Fujita tallied the first goal of the contest with his third of the season as Joao Roberto notched his fourth, tying Rai Pinto for the team lead.
- The final goal was scored by Louie Salkeld, his second of the year.
- Carl Romberg assisted on all three goals with Gabriel Stevanato (Brazil) assisting on Fujita and Roberto's tallies.
- Wednesday night's contest will mark the third straight season with Marshall and WVU meeting twice in the same year.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
- West Virginia advanced on penalty kicks over Old Dominion on Sunday after the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
- Isaac Scheer scored his first goal of the season as Pablo Pozos notched his team-leading 11th of the season.
- At 25 points and seven assists, Marcus Caldeira leads the Mountaineers this season in both categories while tallying nine goals.
- WVU took a matchup between the two sides earlier in the season on Halloween, 3-0, in Morgantown.
