Marshall Volleyball Set to Open SBC Tournament Against Troy

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball team (15-14) is set to start the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a First-Round matchup against Troy on Thursday.

First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. EST/4:30 p.m. CST in Foley, Alabama.

PRE-MATCH NOTES

The Herd enters its first SBC Tournament since 2023, when it defeated Southern Miss in the second round before falling to Texas State in the third round.
Emma Barnett has been an offensive force for MU this season. The freshman leads the team in points with 365.5 and kills at 319.
On the defensive end, Beatrice Ciccarelli leads Marshall with 99 blocks and ranks second behind Barnett in points (323) and kills (235).

SCOUTING TROY

The Trojans finished fourth in the West Division with a 9-15 overall record and a 7-9 record in SBC play.
Troy closed the season splitting a pair of matches at App State last weekend.
The Trojans leads the SBC with 171 service aces and rank 25th nationally at 1,84 per set.
Amiha Butlers sits 24th in the country with 4.95 points per set and 26th with 428 kills.
