Marshall Men’s Basketball Drops Contest to Lipscomb

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Men's Basketball Team (5-2) suffered a 90-67 loss to Lipscomb on Wednesday afternoon at the Cam Henderson Center, closing a three-game homestand.
"Credit to Lipscomb, they came out and outplayed us," Herd Men's Basketball Head Coach Cornelius 'Corny' Jackson said.
Noah Otshudi led Marshall with 18 points, connecting on 5-of-12 from the field, including a pair of threes and a perfect six-for-six at the line. He added five rebounds and four assists. Wyatt Fricks contributed 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with four rebounds. Kai Spears added nine points off the bench, including a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line, and Jalen Speer chipped in nine points, all on three-pointers.
Lipscomb took control early, building a 21-12 lead in the opening minutes and stretching the advantage to 43-27 by halftime. Lipscomb used an 11-0 run early in the second half to build its largest lead at 63-31 with just over 13 minutes remaining. The Herd cut into the deficit, but couldn't overcome it down the stretch.
MU shot 77.3 percent at the free throw line and outrebounded Lipscomb 39-35.
