Marshall Women’s Basketball Drops Sunday Contest at Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. – A tough third quarter where the Herd was outscored by the hosts by nine downed Marshall (5-3) at Morehead State (3-4), 66-56 Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Olivia Olson led the Herd with 12 points and eight rebounds, the only player for the Herd in double figures.
Marshall was limited to seven steals, tied for a season-low as both sides finished with 17 turnovers, also tied for a season-low for a Marshall opponent this year.
"There was a long list of things that went wrong today, we are going to address them but we are also not going to overreact because we have been playing good basketball," Head Coach Juli Fulks said. "We also can't be that team again because that wasn't a very good effort."
A Peyton Ilderton triple cut the deficit to five with just over four minutes to play, but the Herd were unable to overcome a deficit that had swelled to 14 earlier in the final quarter.
UP NEXT
Marshall travels to Baltimore, facing Coppin State to begin December. Tip on Wednesday, Dec. 3 will be at 6 p.m.
