Max Remy Named Chief Of Staff for Marshall Athletics

New Executive Team advisor for AD Harrison comes to Herd from Austin Peay
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Vice President and Director of Athletics Gerald J. Harrison announced that Max Remy is joining Marshall Athletics as the department's new Chief of Staff.
Remy comes to Marshall from Austin Peay where he served as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations, Facilities and Capital Projects since June 2025.

At Marshall, Remy's duties as Chief of Staff will include strategic and analytical leadership that ensures efficiency with oversight of departmental initiatives and the executive operations of the office of the Director of Athletics.
In addition to managing the daily operations of that office, Remy will provide administrative oversight for assigned Olympic sport programs while also serving as the primary point of contact for the Director of Athletics for internal and external communications involving the AD's office.

A young talent in the athletics realm, Remy served on Harrison's previous staff at Austin Peay from Aug. 2021 to Aug. 2025 in various roles.
Remy was the Director of Community Relations and Administrative Operations from June 2023-June 2025 and served as External Operations Assistant from Aug. 2021 to June 2023, giving him a well-rounded knowledge base within intercollegiate athletics.
Prior to his time on the administrative side of athletics, Remy served as a graduate assistant for Austin Peay baseball from July 2020 to Aug. 2021 while finishing up his Master's Degree in Business Management.
Remy's position on the Austin Peay baseball staff came after he completed a successful career with the Governors from 2015-19 – one in which he was a four-time recipient of the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and also an OVC Medal of Honor recipient for a 4.0 GPA.
A native of Reedsville, Pa., Remy graduated from Austin Peay with a B.S. in Health and Human Performance in 2019 before completing his aforementioned Master's degree in 2021.
Harrison also announced that Xander Karagosian is joining the Big Green staff as Athletics Development and Engagement Associate – a move that continues the vision of strengthening the bond between Marshall Athletics, the student-athletes and the community.
In this role, Karagosian will provide support to all Big Green initiatives and revenue generation functions with an emphasis on strengthening donor engagement and support for student-athlete programming while also working with the Director of Student Athlete Development to create programming designed to prepare Marshall student-athletes for life after their time playing for the Herd.
Karagosian joined the staff with Marshall Athletics in April 2025 and previously served as Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics for Harrison since August 2025.
