Senior guard Madison Kellione hits milestone 1,500th point in win
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's Women's Basketball team is playing its best basketball at the right time having won its third-straight game with an eight-point win over ULM Wednesday evening at the Cam Henderson Center.
The Herd (11-18, 6-11 SBC) was led by senior guard Madison Kellione with 16 points. The Cynthiana, Ky. native who will be honored prior to the team's regular season finale Friday scored her 1,500 point in the first half with one of the two 3-pointers she hit.

"It is a great accomplishment, but most of those points don't come without my teammates," Kellione said. "I'm really thankful that my teammates believe in me and get me the ball and I'm able to knock it down."
In addition to Kellione, senior guard Aislynn Hayes notched another feather in her cap with her first double-double of the season with an 11 point, 10 rebound performance. Hayes also led the Herd with six assists in what was the third double-double of her Marshall career.
"Aislynn is great at reading the defense," said Kellione. "She knows when to take her shot and when to pass it to others. On nights when they are taking her away, she knows who is open and where to find them and she has had a lot of great passes, especially in the second half of conference, finding Leyocha [Marigney] in the post. She is really awesome, she is fun to play with."
"Yeah Leyocha scored twice and Ace got her both of those passes," Head Coach Juli Fulks," added. "At the same time, it matters that we are playing efficiently on offense. Ace was 50 percent from the floor, [Kellione] was 60, Leyocha was 100 percent, [Timberlynn Yeast] was 40. When you start getting those kinds of efforts and you have a lot of people doing really efficient things it makes the offense really good."

In a back-and-forth contest with nine lead changes, Marshall got key takeaways in the final period. The Herd forced seven of ULM's 17 total turnovers in the last 10 minutes. With MU trailing by one with just under two minutes to play, Yeast the redshirt freshman forced a steal on front court pressure leading to an and-one to get Coach Fulks's Herd back on top for good.
