NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University graduate senior Kylee Mastin has been named the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Year as officially announced by the league office Friday.
Mastin finished her collegiate career winning three total Gold Medals at the 2025 Sun Belt Indoor Championships. She won the Mile, 3K, and was the anchor leg of the Women's DMR.
As a result of her three gold medals, she became Marshall University Track & Field's most decorated athlete of all-time, male or female with her six total gold medals, including last fall's Cross Country title.
Mastin leaves Marshall as the school's record holder in the Indoor 800, 1K, Mile, 3K, and DMR and Outdoor 800 and 1500.
"Kylee is one of the most dedicated student-athletes I have worked with and it has been a pleasure seeing her reach the highest level of success," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "Kylee's work ethic in training and grit in competition is unmatched. She understands competitive greatness and bringing your best when your best is needed."
"Kylee has rewritten the record books at Marshall and her accomplishments will leave a lasting impression on the program. She is very deserving of this honor and we are very proud of all that she has done for the Herd!"
By way of her three first place finishes, Mastin additionally earns First Team All-Conference.
"It's been awesome having the opportunity to work with Kylee Mastin," Head Cross Country Coach Caleb Bowen said. "She's the epitome of everything you want in an athlete. Dedicated to the extreme, hardest worker, and gutsy when it's crunch time. I've never met a more tactical mind. I'm blessed to have worked with her and am excited to see what challenges she crushes next."
A first place finish at the championships warrants First Team All-Conference, second warrants Second Team All-Conference, and third place warrants Third Team All-Conference.
Fellow DMR members Brynn McKeever, McKenna Woodruff, Hannah Wyler earned First Team as well.
Kazuma Bowring (800) and Addison Painter (Long Jump) earn Second Team All-Conference.
Lara Check (Pentathlon) and Rebecca Merritt garnered Third Team All-Conference honors.
