El Ouazzani clinches match at No. 5 singles

MONROE, La. – The No. 67 Marshall University Tennis team (14-4, 3-3 SBC) started the weekend with a dominant 4-0 win over the ULM Warhawks (3-9, 0-6 SBC) Friday in Monroe, Louisiana.
"Nour and Sophia did a great job starting their matches and finishing strong to clinch the match," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.
With a walkover at No. 3, Sophia Hurrion and Aisling McGrane took their match at No. 1 doubles with a 6-2 win to seal the doubles point.
The Herd then benefited from a walkover at win at No. 6 singles for Nel Van Hout to go up 2-0.
Hurrion and Nour El Ouazzani then used straight set wins at No. 4 and 5, respectively, to give MU a sweep to start the weekend.
Johanna Strom was up 6-4, 4-0, at No. 1 and Alina Mokrynskaya was up 6-4, 3-0, at No. 3 as their matches went unfinished.
