BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. – The No. 68 Marshall University Tennis team (17-4, 7-3 SBC) took its contest on Senior Day with a 4-0 sweep over the Texas State Bobcats (15-5, 6-3 SBC) Sunday in Barboursville at the 7827 Tennis Center.

The Herd honored Kylie Fisher, Sophia Hurrion, Aisling McGrane and Emma Vanderheyden were in a pre-match ceremony for Senior Day.

"All four seniors, getting the win for Kylie, seeing Emma and Soph get finishes in singles with Ash in doubles was great. It was nice to see the seniors step up and play some great tennis today," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.

In doubles, Hurrion and McGrane opened it up with a 6-0 sweep as Johanna Strom and Nel Van Hout with a 6-3 victory at No. 3 to seal the doubles point.

Alina Mokrynskaya then opened singles with a 6-1, 6-2, straight sets victory at No. 3 to have The Herd up 2-0. Vanderheyden quickly followed with a 6-2, 6-2, straight sets win at No. 2.

Hurrion then closed out the match at No. 5 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, for the sweep.
