Three Herd Tennis Student-Athletes Named First-Team All-SBC

NEW ORLEANS – Three Herd Tennis student-athletes earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors on Wednesday, as announced by the conference office. Johanna Strom was named first-team singles with the duo of Sophia Hurrion and Aisling McGrane earning a first-team nod in doubles.
Strom put together a strong junior campaign with a 12-6 record, including 11-6 at the No. 1 position, with 11 straight-set wins. The Stockholm, Sweden, native finished 4-2 in SBC matches, with three that went unfinished while leading.

The senior duo of Hurrion and McGrane were dominant this season. The pairing finished with a 14-3 overall record in the Spring, including 8-2 in SBC play. Nine of their 14 wins came while dropping two or fewer games with five sweeps. The natives of the United Kingdom ended the the regular season on a six-match winning streak.

The Herd is set to open the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament against Texas State on Friday in Rome, Georgia, at 2 p.m.
