Hurrion, Vanderheyden Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Seniors honored for performances on the court and in the classroom

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Herd Tennis seniors Sophia Hurrion and Emma Vanderheyden were each named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
Â
To be eligible, student-athletes must have competed in 70 percent of team's duals in the spring and have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA.
Hurrion was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Doubles First-Team as well as being named the SBC Elite Award Winner for being the conference's top performer on the court and in the classroom in women's tennis. The senior finished the season with a 19-3 record in doubles and with a 16-8 mark in singles. Hurrion and doubles partner Aisling McGrane capped of the 2025 season with nine straight wins at No. 2 doubles.

Vanderheyden finished 2025 with 11 singles victories at No. 2 singles and 13 wins in doubles, all at the No. 1 position with partner Alina Mokrynskaya.
