Herd Track and Field’s Athletes Depart for NCAA East First Rounds

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall University Track and Field will be represented by Long Jumpers Lara Check and Addison Painter starting Wednesday at the 2025 NCAA DI Track and Field Championships East First Round hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Both athletes have qualified with a Top 48 mark in the East Region. The field of 48 athletes in both Long Jump events will be narrowed to 12 combined with 12 from the West Region taking place simultaneously in College Station, Texas to advance to the NCAA Championship Finals in Eugene, Oregon starting on June 11.

"The goal is to go out and have a good day," Painter said. "Obviously we'd like to be in the Top 12 and advance to Eugene but the goal is to go out and execute and have fun."
