Painter Finishes Historic Season for Marshall

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - It may have been for only one season, but Addison Painter certainly has left his mark on the Marshall Track & Field program.

The Herd's school record holder in both Indoor and Outdoor Long Jump competed in the event Wednesday in the First Round of the NCAA Track & Field Championships East Prelims, jumping 7.03 meters.

"Addison will leave a legacy at Marshall that will last forever," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "Qualifying to this level is one of the most challenging accomplishments in DI athletics. He was able to do so in just one year in our program. Most importantly he is a selfless leader and his impact will help as we build a championship culture. We are extremely proud of him and he will be missed."
