HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 2 Marshall University Men's Soccer team (1-0-0) is set to host the No. 12 Virginia Tech Hokies (2-0-0) Friday night at Hoops Family Field. First kick is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

- The Herd opened the season with a 2-1 win over George Mason on Friday in Huntington.
- MU saw Larry Noel and David de la Vibora each tallied a goal in their Marshall debuts.
- Marshall saw Yasha Schaerer find Noel for his first assist in the Green and White as Carl Romberg and Joao Roberto assisted de la Vibora.
- Dan Rose earned his first win of the season in goal.
ABOUT THE HOKIES
- Virginia Tech opened the season with a 1-0 win over No. 3 Ohio State and a 2-0 victory over Canisus last week with both contests in Blacksburg.
- Goalkeeper Sam Joseph was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week with a pair of clean sheets and five saves in the two matches.
- Ugo Bertelli, Alex Perez and Colin Beutel each scored a goal with Perez also registering an assist.
