Herd Women’s Basketball Finalizes 2025-26 Staff

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Basketball Head Coach Juli Fulks announced the additions of Patrick Herlihy and Cassie Lastivka to the Thundering Herd coaching staff.
"We're thrilled to welcome both Patrick and Cassie to our staff," Coach Fulks said. "Patrick's West Virginia roots, experience as a Marshall graduate assistant, and success coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels have prepared him well to impact our program. Cassie's track record of building winning teams, player development across several levels, and strong recruiting connections makes her a tremendous asset. Both bring unique perspectives and a shared commitment to developing our student-athletes on and off the court."
Herlihy was a graduate assistant with Marshall's men's basketball program from 2018-20, while earning his MS in Sport Administration. Among his decade of basketball coaching and teaching experience, the Charleston, W.Va. native was the Coordinator of Women's Basketball Operations at FIU before returning to West Virginia and coaching Charleston Catholic High School for the last four seasons as an assistant, capped with winning the 2025 WVSSAC Class AA State Title. Herlihy earned his degree in Information Technology from Syracuse University in 2018, where he contributed to the program as both a student manager and walk-on, gaining valuable experience under Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim.
Lastivka comes to the Herd after a season with Milwaukee as the program's Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. The graduate of Ohio Northern has also had successful coaching stops at Hocking College, Wilmington College, and back at her alma mater, where her Polar Bears made consecutive NCAA DIII Championship appearances, including a Sweet 16 trip in 2023 in a season where she was a member of the 2022-23 OAC Coaching Staff of the Year. Lastivka additionally has earned her Master's Degree from Ohio University and MBA from Tiffin.
